What did the IRP learn?

What is the Change Readiness Assessment?

Change Readiness Assessments (CRA) are conducted to measure UBC’s preparedness for the implementation of Workday. To follow the initial assessment in June 2019, the second assessment was conducted in October to help monitor readiness for the change across UBC, in the following categories:


What were the results?

Participants continue to demonstrate a good understanding of the benefits that Workday will provide, and expressed a desire to receive new, forward-looking information that provides visibility to what is coming in order to improve awareness.

Individuals who have taken part in focus group events expressed enthusiasm to receive more information on Workday functionality to increase readiness, such as training.

 

The Transition Network has expanded their reach and engagement efforts to the UBC community. Communication efforts will to continue with new departmental and job-specific information to help improve community engagement and readiness.

Human Resources (HR) and Finance end-users are eager to learn end-to-end processes and indicated interest in learning future-state processes in testing and training activities.

 


What were the recommendations?

The following recommendations from the assessments were gathered to help further adjust and refine the implementation approach to ensure that the whole UBC community feels supported in the coming change.


What's Next?

The Transition Network (TN) will receive support in:

  • Continued clarification in their roles  activities.
  • Understanding the changes to HR and Finance business processes with Workday.

UBC can expect training through:

  • Workday 101 video courses on Canvas.
  • More resources and information through the IRP website, newsletter and your TN members.

UBC will hear:

  • More about detailed HR and Finance process through monthly call-in sessions, as well as community-wide Workday demo events. and faculty.
  • From VPs, AVPs, deans, directors and heads, who will be equipped with additional information about the program to help answer questions.
  • More up-to-date information from frequently asked questions, and featured articles on the perspectives of change from leaders, staff and faculty from across both campuses.

The Integrated Renewal Program will continue to gather more information on readiness through:

  • Post-survey consultations.
  • 1:1 meetings with the TN members.
  • Inquiries through the IRP Service Now and engagement events.
