Community Events

The Integrated Renewal Program – Student (IRP Student) hosts community events across both campuses to help UBC community members increase their understanding of the changes that will come with the launch of Workday Student. As events are scheduled, they are posted here for registration and announced to the community. Presentations and recordings from previous sessions are also available through the link below.

The Call-in Sessions are targeted community engagements following Workday Student 101. Upcoming sessions will be delivered in mixed formats; including live virtual sessions as well as pre-recorded informational videos made available on our website. Delivery in both formats will ensure the UBC community receives the most timely information to prepare them ahead of Launch 1. ​These will provide a deeper dive into the capabilities of the new student information system, highlight the different functional areas, and details of changes, and allow participants to ask questions. ​

We highly encourage you to watch the pre-recorded Call-in Session Onboarding Video (CWL Protected). This video has been created to accelerate your understanding of the concepts covered and optimize your experience within the Call-in Sessions and informational videos.

Student Financial Assessment 

In this session, you will learn about how student charges will be assessed in Workday Student - tuition splitting for full-session courses and graduate tuition assessment, as well as related back-end processes.

Student Communications 

In this session, you will be introduced to the new Student Communications Solution, which complements Workday Student to support your communication needs. You will learn about various types of communications a student will receive in Workday Student. Practical skills such as how to pull student lists, format and send emails, and view past communications will be demonstrated.

Payment Applications 

This session will introduce you to different financial-related platforms and processes in the new system, such as Admissions Acceptance Deposit, waivers, etc. You will learn about the relationship between different systems and how they will interact with Workday Student in regards to students’ finances.

Graduate Education Session - Cancelled

Thank you for your interest in attending the Graduate Education Call-in Session on Tuesday, May 30. As many of the related capabilities that support graduate students and staff in Workday Student are in scope for Launch 2 (February 2024), we have decided to cancel this session until further notice. Details about how, and in what format, relevant information will be shared with the community later this fall.

There are several other Call-in Sessions planned for Summer 2023. Please keep an eye on this page for specific topics and dates, which will be announced soon.

In this video, you will be introduced to the new concept of Student Cohorts in Workday Student. Cohorts are utilized to group students together to perform specific actions in the system. You will learn about various types of cohorts, their purpose, and how to add students to them.
