Training for Workday is Now Live!

Training for Workday is Now Live!

July 20, 2020

The launch of Workday, starting in November, will first align our human resources and finance systems and processes as part of the Integrated Renewal Program (IRP). Workday will transform the way we work at UBC by enabling efficiency with cohesive and reliable processes, and a better user experience through an intuitive system.

To prepare faculty, staff, and student employees for this change, self-directed training on how to use Workday is now available through the Workplace Learning Ecosystem (WPL).

Training Overview and Timing

Training materials, such as quick reference guides, webinar recordings, and videos are now available to support the UBC community. Through self-serve training options, Workday training courses and materials can be reviewed at users' own pace, completed in advance of go-live on November 2, 2020.

All faculty, staff, and student employees can start with the Workday Basics course to understand key concepts and basic navigation in Workday. Time to complete this foundation course is between 45-60 minutes. After learning the basics, users can move on to learning about key HR and finance processes in Workday for faculty, staff, & student employees.

Specific training courses will be available based on each individual’s role as faculty, staff, student employee, or manager, as outlined below.
