Workday Demonstration Events of HR, Finance and Student Functionality at Vancouver and Okanagan Campuses

November 13, 2017

In early November, UBC hosted a major Workday demonstration and live streaming event in Vancouver and the Okanagan. Over 700 senior academic and administrative leaders, faculty and staff participated in the university's evaluation of Workday as a potential core enterprise platform across Student, Human Resources and Finance. Participants were shown Workday’s features and functionality and the synergies that could be delivered by implementing an integrated enterprise solution to improve the experience for our faculty, staff and students by providing access to a single source of information and real-time reporting.

In a post-event survey, 92% of attendees understood the changes being contemplated by the Integrated Renewal Program. The opportunities attendees were most enthusiastic about are: providing better service to faculty, staff & students (72%), using a simple, intuitive user interface (70%), completing real-time reporting & analysis on their own (69%). The Workday features that were identified as the most beneficial to respondent’s work included: ability to see more comprehensive info through one interface (74%), reporting and business intelligence capabilities (63%), integrated processes and ability to track approval processes (60%). The survey results were shared with UBC’s Executive and Program Sponsors to inform the evaluation process.
