UBC Students now have access to Workday Student!
Step-by-step instructions to support students in completing tasks in Workday Student are being developed and published in phases on newly created websites, based on first student use, from May 21 through October. Click below to find the published guides:
The Student Service Center (SSC) will continue to be used by current students for activities related to the 2023 Winter and 2024 Summer sessions and Workday Student will gradually become the primary interface for the functions that students currently perform in SSC starting with the activities for 2024 Winter session.
Additional Information:
- Students who are also currently employed by UBC will see a change to their Workday profile. The Workday default profile will change to the student profile on May 21. Individuals who have student and employee profiles can control their default display.
- All students will receive more information about their access and the actions for them to first take in Workday ahead of May 21. Some of these first actions will be checking their personal and contact information but also setting up their third-party authorization, adding their emergency contacts, and adding their direct deposit information. Students will be able to see their academic record in Workday and look at courses for the registration window starting in June for 2024 Winter session.
- For a period of time - known as the Coexistence Period - both systems will be in use. During coexistence, students will need to conduct some tasks in both Workday Student and the SSC. These include changes to student personal information that do not require staff approval. For example, if a student wishes to add or update their preferred name, they will need to change it in both systems themselves. Learn more about what dual-entry tasks will be required of students here.
What students need to do before registration:
- Ahead of the registration period, students have been asked to complete tasks in Workday Student including reviewing, entering, validating or updating their:
- Personal information including pronouns, gender, and preferred name
- third-party authorization
- direct deposit details
- academic record, including year level (formerly class standing) and program of study
