Curriculum Management

Curriculum Management

A Snapshot

A Summary

What's changing?

  • Equivalencies in Workday truly need to be equivalent courses as the system will use them interchangeably for things like prerequisites and academic requirements
  • Course eligibility rules will be enforced by Workday at the time of registration
    • There is no option for a unit to choose to ‘soft-check’ these rules
  • Course codes will have either _O or _V appended to them according to the campus that approved them
  • All variable credit values are credit ranges (no more ‘either or’ credit options; e.g. 3/6)
  • There is no field to indicate a ‘c’ or ‘d’ after the variable credit value
  • All students must be registered in a Program of Study
  • Minors have been streamlined; instead of setting up minors for each program where students are eligible to take the minor, one minor will be available in the system which all students across programs will use and any variations in requirements will be managed by conditional requirements
  • Workday will only list one instance of the credential and both campuses will use it
  • Programs of study will be more modular in nature; students will be registered in their primary degree program and additional pathways (such as minors) may be added on
  • More accuracy in the representation of our programs of study within the system

What's staying the same?

  • Much of the course information stored in Workday is the same as what we currently enter in our Curriculum Management System
