Preparing our community: Workday Student 101

Workday Student is the name of UBC’s new student information system – set to be launched in phases starting in October of 2023. This renewed, reliable, and secure student information system, will provide a critical foundation to support a modern educational experience at UBC, both today and into the future. As we move closer to the launch of Workday Student, it is important to ensure our UBC community is engaged, informed, and prepared.   

What is Workday Student 101? 

Through webinars, blog posts, and web content, Workday Student 101, will provide our community with foundational knowledge including: 

• the key differences between Workday Student and our current SIS
• core concepts and basic terminology changes 
• an overview of our training approach  

This information will be important to learn ahead of targeted engagements around system functionality and in-depth training sessions, which are coming in 2023. 

Who will be invited to Workday Student 101 Webinars? 

The series of Workday Student 101 webinars will be held for targeted user groups across both campuses. If you receive an invite to one of these sessions, your attendance is strongly encouraged to solidify your knowledge and ask any questions you may have. Sessions will be recorded and available for all UBC employees on the IRP Student website.

Enrolment Services – November 1, 2022 

Transition Network – November 7, 2022 

Community-wide – November 23, 2022 

Student Academic Advisors – November 28, 2022
