PROGRAM OF STUDY OVERVIEW
A Program of Study (PoS) is path of studies that a learner applies to through either an application or registration process and is admitted into, and which leads to a specific outcome or credential following the completion of a number of requirements.
It is a replacement term referring to all UBC pathway selections, for example, major, minor, option, and specialization in SIS. All UBC pathway terms will appear in the field labelled as Program of Study, which is visible to students and staff. See the Program of Study Data Standard for more information.
PROGRAM OF STUDY DESIGN
In the current SIS, credentials (e.g. B.A., B.Sc.) are always tied to a Program of Study. In the future, Programs of Study will be more modular and credentials separated out from Programs of Study. Below is an example of what a Program of Study for a Bachelor of Science Undergraduate degree could look like in Workday Student:
PROGRAM OF STUDY STATUSES
In Workday, Statuses are Workday delivered. Configurable status reasons exist.
