IRP Student - 2024 in Review

November 8, 2024

2024 marked a significant milestone in our mission to launch Workday Student, providing the UBC community with further resources to meet the evolving needs of a dynamic digital environment, and to align with UBC's vision of the future for higher education.

The successful Launch 2 in February 2024, allowed us to bring critical functionality online. This launch represented much more than a system upgrade; it was the conclusion of years of planning, building, testing, and collaboration between multiple teams. Launch 2 of Workday Student provided the community with capabilities for academic records management, course scheduling, registration, and financial processes, with the goal of delivering a smoother experience for students, staff, and faculty.

The program’s journey in 2024 has not been easy, but it has been rewarding. What made this year impactful is not only the technologies we implemented but also the UBC community’s legacy of collaboration and innovation.

What’s Next: IRP Student Completion

As IRP Student officially ends on November 30, 2024, the work is far from over. In December 2024, the next phase of UBC’s Workday Student journey will begin with the IRP Student Completion initiative - focusing on continuing with IRP Student’s work to ensure that any remaining tasks, gaps, and improvements are addressed.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the program’s journey in 2024. This year, we have built together something historical that is shaping the future of UBC for many years to come.
