IRP Student: Transition & Beyond
IRP Student is entering its final phase and will end on November 29, 2024. We recognize, however, the journey with Workday Student is only beginning for the UBC Community.
This page contains information and resources for what you can expect in the months leading to and after the end of IRP Student.
We have consulted with and been guided by our leadership and governance around how to best keep the UBC Community informed about what happens next. We are anticipating that the information around the transition will be somewhat iterative, and we will be using channels to dynamically house and share this information as it is available.
Key Focus Areas
There are three focus areas that are important for our community to be aware of and know more about
- SIS Transition - As of September 1, 2024, UBC will fully transition from SIS to Workday as its primary System of Record for student data. Access for current staff and faculty will be changed to read-only mode to applications that utilize SIS, such as SISC and FSC, until the end of June 2025 when all access will be removed. Students' access to SSC will end on September 1.
- Transition to Operations (ToPs) - ToPs has been planning for the successful transition of the Workday Student application (and point solutions) from the program team to longer-term support and sustainment teams by November 2024, while minimizing disruption to staff and maximizing user adoption.
- Student Completion - The Student Completion project was approved by the UBC Board of Governors to complete the scope that was originally part of IRP Student but was not completed for practical reasons, or due to the maturity of the Workday Student product. Student Completion will be staffed by people from IRP Student to ensure critical expertise is retained and to help realize UBC's investment in Workday.
