A Summary

What’s changing?  

  • Students can register for courses and check their schedules on their mobile device
  • Workday allows staff to grant registration restriction overrides (aka tokens) to students to allow self-management of registration into that course
  • A new task for mass registration will allow staff to register one student into multiple course sections or multiple students into multiple course sections
  • No functionality to allow for pre-requisites/co-requisites/equivalencies to be "soft checked" by administrators - course eligibility rules will be enforced upon registration
  • Waitlists will be manually triggered when a course section fills up and staff have the opportunity to either manually manage their waitlists or use Workday Student functionality to manage promotion into a course section

What's staying the same?  

  • Students will be able to register themselves into courses
  • Staff will be able to override requirements for a student and register them into a course section

Key Term

  • Saved Schedules: Saved Schedules allow the creation of a draft schedule for the selected course section based on the student’s availability and preferences. Schedules can be set up once the course section is published for the academic period
