The Workday Implementation Journey Starts Now

May 15, 2018

UBC’s journey towards a transformation of its administrative processes and system environment reached a key milestone this month with the official kick-off of the implementation process.

The Integrated Renewal Program will modernize UBC’s Student, HR and Finance administrative systems. UBC will implement Workday, an integrated, cloud-based platform, across the university.

Hear what Professor Santa J. Ono, President and Vice-Chancellor, has to say about the program in this short video:

The program team is focusing on creating a detailed implementation plan aligned with UBC’s academic and financial calendars. The implementation journey is planned to take three years with new functionality introduced in a series of five scheduled Workday releases. The program has already included input from the UBC community, and the team will continue to engage faculty, staff and students.

In the coming weeks, Lead Program Sponsor, Kate Ross, Associate Vice-President, Enrolment Services and Registrar, and other members of the program leadership group, are meeting with executive teams in faculties and VP portfolios, in order to strengthen the collaboration and communication across the university.

The journey toward a new administrative environment will require a major effort, and the program team recognizes that faculty, staff and students will have questions along the way. There will be an opportunity to subscribe to program updates this summer and further details will be posted on our website as they become available.
