In anticipation of the May 1 start of UBC’s Workday implementation, approximately forty members of the Integrated Renewal Program Delivery Team completed Workday training sessions this month. In attendance were community members from Vancouver and Okanagan campuses who have either been seconded to the Program or are subject matter experts (SMEs) who will help guide UBC during the Plan Stage.
Team members participated in both self-directed online and in-person training to learn Workday core concepts including navigation, terminology and business process functionality. In deeper dive instructor-led sessions, attendees received hands-on learning using typical UBC HR and Finance transactions. Feedback was positive with participants commenting on the intuitive interface similar to mobile devices, ease of use and ability to drill down into information based on security roles.
Faculty, staff and students will receive Workday training well in advance of each planned Workday release. A training plan will be developed in 2018, with updates provided as information becomes available.
