A new Refresh button that was added as part of the latest Workday release allows students to request their fees be re-assessed in real-time, but does not accurately recalculate all fees.
What is the Issue?
When students use this new Refresh button, the fees they see in Workday will not accurately reflect fees that span multiple terms, such as Athletics and Recreation and UBCSUO fees.
Who is Impacted?
Students who make registration changes and then use the Refresh button to request fee reassessment.
What is the impact?
Students will not see an accurate updated fee balance immediately after clicking Refresh, if they have fees spanning multiple terms, but they may not realize the fees shown are not correct. Fees are being manually re-assessed on a regular basis, so these will be corrected eventually but not immediately.
What is the status?
We are continuing to manually re-assess and update fees on a regular basis. We are also investigating how Workday handles fees spread out across multiple academic periods so they can be accurately captured in these refreshes moving forward.
