Some course sections that are set up using expiry waitlists and have modified reserved capacities after student registration, may have been over-enrolled.
What is the Issue?
When a course section uses expiration method waitlist management and its reserved capacity is modified after course registration starts, the waitlist opening notification may offer students more seats than are available in the section.
Who is Impacted?
Academic Units with course sections with expiry method waitlists who have modified reserved capacity after students have begun registering.
What is the impact?
Academic Units – Course sections may be over-enrolled beyond what Units had planned or beyond the scheduled location capacity. Units will need to determine what actions are appropriate if enrolment exceeds room capacity and communication with students, as required.
Units who modified reserved capacity after registration had begun and use waitlists will need to manually manage their Waitlists until the issue is resolved.
What is the status?
Impacted Academic Units (as of July 15) have been contacted directly by IRP. Units with modified reserved capacity after registration has begun and use waitlists should manually manage their waitlists until the issue is resolved.
Teams have identified the root cause and are working on the solution to address. Updates will be provided here as available.
