IRP Readiness Survey Update

IRP Readiness Survey Update

June 19, 2019

On April 25, UBC launched the first of three readiness surveys. It was a first important step to develop a baseline understanding of UBC’s capacity and willingness for change, and identify areas of potential resistance.

The first survey finished on May 15, and we achieved a 13% response rate, representing faculty and staff across both campuses and representing all faculties and departments. Those responses are now being compiled into a report. After that, we will be able to share back key themes and start identifying how to address those themes. Your feedback will inform the change management strategies and tactics leading to the launch of the Finance and HR streams of the program.

We're currently planning to run the second assessment in the fall and the third assessment early in 2020.

Watch for further communication about the results of our first assessment, as well as how to participate in future assessments.

Why the assessments are important

For an initiative of this size, it is important to understand how ready we are for this change, as it is one of the most critical components of our success. Feedback from the ongoing assessments will inform the university’s decision-making around how we manage this change at both a departmental and organizational level. We are hoping for continued strong participation so that we are able to design and refine change strategies that meet the needs of the UBC community.
