We are pleased to announce that Calvin Liu will be joining the Integrated Service Centre (ISC) as Finance Product Manager. In this role, Calvin will ensure business and user needs related to Finance within the ISC products and services are identified and prioritized. He will support the enhancement of Finance products, understanding all functionality, features, performance and applicability for UBC. Calvin will partner across the UBC community to prioritize enhancement roadmaps and backlog ensuring alignment with finance strategy, policy and practices.
Calvin joined UBC as a Finance Manager at Canadian International Resource and Development Institute (CIRDI) in March 2020. As a member of the executive team, he was responsible for providing leadership, direction and management of all the finance activities across the organization. Prior to joining UBC, he had over ten years of financial leadership experience in the construction and high-tech industries. As the Assistant Controller in one of BC’s top technology companies, he played a key role in the implementation of Oracle NetSuite and various system integrations. Calvin is also specialized in financial reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
Calvin’s qualifications include an undergraduate degree in Business Administration concentrating in Accounting and Management Information Systems at Simon Fraser University. He also obtained his CPA-CGA designation while he was working at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
When Calvin is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing badminton, biking, hiking, and spending as much time as possible in the natural beauty of British Columbia.
